Inspired by his passion to provide solutions for optimal health, Jean co-founded SciMetrika in 2001. Over the last decade alone, SciMetrika was awarded more than $100M across 200+ federal contracts or task orders.
Jean’s technical background includes more than 10 years of experience as a senior statistician and project manager on initiatives funded by agencies of the Department of Health and Human Services. He has specific expertise in the development of sophisticated statistical programs, the utilization of statistical methods to analyze epidemiological data, survey analysis, and the use of SUDAAN and SAS software. Jean earned his doctorate of public health in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master’s degree in statistics from North Carolina State University.
He has authored a number of technical and scientific papers and presentations, is a member of the American Statistical Association and the American Public Health Association, and serves on the board of the UNC Public Health Foundation. Jean has been honored as one of the Top 10 Black Entrepreneurs (2010 and 2011, Inc. magazine) and as one of the top 50 African-Americans in science and technology (Black Money). In 2011, he received the James E. Grizzle Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Biostatistics. Jean also serves as CEO for ScitoVation, LLC, also part of the Solutem Group, a holding company with an overall focus on creating a healthy world.
Jean is passionate about his native Haiti and is very active in the Haitian-American community. Outside of work, he’s a sports fan who enjoy American football, soccer, and basketball. Jean is also an avid reader and enjoys movies as well as the performing arts.
