Lisa Hawley
Program Manager and Behavioral Scientist

Lisa serves as a Program Manager and Behavioral Scientist at SciMetrika. She is responsible for managing the injury and violence prevention, chronic diseases, and HIV/AIDS portfolios of work at SciMetrika. Additionally, she designs, implements, and evaluates research, programs, and complex initiatives for youth and adults in collaboration with government agencies, health care systems, community organizations, and schools. Lisa excels in strategic planning and creative partnering as well as applying behavior change and social determinants of health frameworks to improve health outcomes. She is particularly adept in using qualitative research methods to provide the context for and guide the interpretation of quantitative findings.
Lisa is a recognized leader in global and domestic population health. She has served on several boards including as president of the Pacific Northwest Society for Public Health Education and is a founding board member of Seattle to South Africa, a not-for-profit organization that built and staffs a hospice facility designed to ensure people with AIDS die with dignity. She has special expertise in developing and promoting innovative approaches to achieve health equity and contributed to the development of the first Health Equity Resource Toolkit for State Practitioners Addressing Obesity Disparities featured at the 2012 Weight of the Nation conference in Washington D.C. She is particularly interested in addressing social determinants of health and has woven this interest throughout her work at SciMetrika.
Lisa holds a Master’s of Public Health degree in Public Health Leadership with an emphasis on ethics from the Gillings Global School of Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; she has a certificate in Professional Project Management from the Project Management Institute. She was awarded the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s/Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health’s program management fellowship for global public health leadership work in Tanzania. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family traveling, downhill skiing, and surfing.
